At Soma Lingua, you will learn to engage your body, tapping into its innate wisdom to discover new possibilities, shifting your mindset, as you unlock your inner power. You will envision what could be (future you), bring awareness to what is (present you), and explore the intersections connecting body and mind, to allow movement towards your desired future, closing the gap in between.
What is somatic coaching? It is similar to life coaching or executive coaching with an focus on establishing goals and working towards reaching them, however, somatic coaching places direct emphasis on the body, inviting the language of your body into the conversation. Through the experience of working with hundreds of clients, aligning your mind and body is the fastest way to being where you want to be in life.
What is Soma Lingua? Soma Lingua is the coaching service provided by Lindsay Little. “Soma” means body and “lingua” is derived from tongue or language. The name Soma Lingua is meant to be a reminder that there is a language of the body and it is an invitation to pay attention to what your body is saying.
Soma Lingua’s Values:
- Awareness: Awareness is where change begins. Learning the language of the body and being able to observe and be with oneself is an integral part of growth and expansion.
- Freedom: Freedom expands what is possible. Attuning to sensations of the body loosens constriction and creates openings to live more freely, in congruence with oneself.
- Imagination: Imagination allows a new reality to emerge. Making space for wonder, curiosity, and limitless possibility allows for embodied expansiveness and aliveness.
Who might benefit from somatic coaching? If you desire to be more aligned with your passions and yearn for personal growth and movement in your life, somatic coaching may be useful.
What is Soma Lingua’s Approach? Becoming aware of patterns by inviting curiosity into spaces where it has not been present to determine what is in service of your growth and disrupt what has been on autopilot, keeping you stuck, in a safe, dignified, and compassionate way. This allows the discomfort that this process may bring up to become sustainable. The discomfort is temporary and is designed to enlarge your capacity to be with emotions, feelings, and sensations that have felt intolerable and have contributed to stagnation. This results in making space, allowing movement towards achieving your goals. This approach also includes playfulness and fun, but you will be challenged to move outside your comfort zone.
What might a session involve? Sessions are 60-minutes and are conducted via Zoom. Sessions may involve practices to establish and strengthen your capacity to be in the present through somatic movement, stillness, conversation, laughter, and other vocalizations. Every part of the session is invitational and questions are always welcome. Sessions are meant to be collaborative and exploratory. You know yourself best. My role as coach is to hold space, ask questions, and witness your process. You will not be given advice, but I will reflect back what I observe.
